About Us

Phantasmal Gallery is an hybrid art gallery dedicated to the celebration of horror, oddities, and all things macabre. Our mission is to create a space to share art and experiences that challenge the boundaries of the normal and introduce the world to the beauty of the strange.

Being a hybrid gallery means that we put on exhibitions online and in psychical gallery spaces. We try to run an open call and exhibition every month! Look out for announcements on our instagram.

The Questions We Ask.

You may have noticed the question section of our open calls or artist profiles. We love to ask our artists what interest them. As a fan of Tv and Movies, I find they constantly influence my practice. I find it incredibly interesting to see what artists watch and love, whether they know it or not, it seems to always influence their practice. And if you didn't notice we do LOVE horror here, so of course we are going to ask the important question...Do you like scary movies?

Director & Curator

Daisy-Drew Smith

Smith is an artist who works with photography and film. Their current work employs photographic prints to construct juxtapositions and references to horror & surrealist movies. Compelled by the parallels between stylised movies and real-life events, as well as the effects of trauma, Smith explores these themes in their photo and video works.

They created Phantasmal after graduating from Bath Spa University with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art.

Smith realised quite quickly that there was not nearly enough publications or gallery spaces, that celebrate horror and the uncanny. Therefore deciding to create their own space for artists to share theor macabre and haunting work to.
